We just came across this Bondi Observer feature from February 2017 and thought that it’s never too late to pay tribute to someone like John who died a few weeks ago.

At the time he was still the well loved cartoonist at The Sydney Morning Herald, but on this particular day he was assisting his then 10 year old son Lukas who was part of an Activated Walls exhibition down along the Promenade.

John lived with his family in Bond and we asked John what they liked about living here:

“Funnily enough my wife and I aren’t big beach goers, but we love going there, walking along the promenade and enjoying the cafes. Our favourite is La Piadina in Glenayr Ave. Bondi is a great place to bring up a child, we had many fun times with Lukas at the beach playground and North Bondi kids pool.”

He’ll be missed by many.
