Sarah Hurley
Sarah was busy flying her drone when we were taking the dog for a walk at Ben Buckler and myself for a swim off the boat ramp (glorious) when we met her a few days ago. We couldn’t see the drone and thought it must be our eyesight, but actually it was all the way over on the other side of the bay near the Icebergs. Who knew they could fly that far? We got chatting.
What is your Bondi story?
“I met my partner Scott, who is Australian, while he was working where I was living in Los Angeles. Scott had to move back to Sydney a bit sooner than we both expected. While playing the long distance game, I came to visit Scott in Bondi early 2020. The borders closed due to Covid, and I decided to ride out the pandemic here instead of returning to America [Ed: we love the Covid love stories]. During that time I fell more in love with Scott and Bondi Beach and knew that I could officially move to Australia. I feel very lucky to have ended up in Bondi. The beach, the topography, the vibe ... I love it all.”
How do you spend the first hour of your day?
“My favourite way to kick off my day is by making coffee at home and strolling down to the promenade for a walk. I enjoy taking pictures on my walks. It's a bit of a stress reliever for me.”
Is there one thing you’d like people to know about you?
“No..haha.”
