Felicity and husband Peter moved out of the area during the COVID-19 epidemic. When we bumped into them a year ago they told us they like to come back for a dose of the Bondi “thrum”. We love the description and have added it to our Bondi vocabulary.

“I come to Sydney for work but I come because I love Bondi and I have a friend who lives in Bondi who often allows me to stay which I just love. It is my community and my neighbourhood. And I come for work. I have a variety of work projects at UTS in midwifery and travelling to low resource settings and delivering programs to strengthen the workforce and the clinical quality in different countries.

I do a whole lot of different projects. I recently just finished one on preventing female circumcision occurring with refugee families arriving from Africa.”
