As mentioned before, the Bondi Innovation Forum is coming up this Friday. We were lucky enough to meet up with one of the speakers, Adrian Falk, well known in the world of marketing, business, and personal development.

What is your Bondi story?

Growing up in Bondi Junction as a teenager, I have always had a love affair with Bondi Beach after moving here from Brisbane. Being a stone's throw away from a long stretch of white sand, made me feel instantly relaxed and on holidays from my first visit, and I still get that feeling today. With the Bondi Hotel being my first bar and club that I ever visited to bringing in Y2K dancing on the beach at Mobile Home, the New Year's Eve dance party to bring in the new millennium, Bondi has always been there for many of my life's milestones - including the two lockdowns that we experienced during COVID. When Australia was shut off from the rest of the world, it was always my morning ritual to always go for a run down Bondi Rd, along the beach promenade and then have a rejuvenating Winter's swim (when we were allowed out of our homes and on the beach). Having this to look forward to everyday allowed me to process what was going on in the world.

Bondi has the ability to always leave you wanting more. In fact, after leaving home at 20 to work and live in New York, after graduating uni, it was the lure of the Bondi that kept pulling me back, like a tide, to the point that I moved back to start my own agency at 24, Believe Advertising & PR that is now headquartered in Bondi Junction.

How do you spend the first hour of your day?

I often am an early riser, I'll start the day with answering emails that have come in overnight from media or clients that I work with internationally, then take the kids to school. Afterwards I hit the gym and on the weekends, it's a run and swim down at the beach.

Is there one thing you’d like people to know about you?

I have written a book called "Believe. Start Living the life you have always dreamed of. Today." The easiest thing you can ever find in life is someone to tell you a whole list of reasons why you can't fulfill your dreams, so I have written a book about breaking the cycle of negative thinking and how I have managed to live the life that I have always wanted. From being told a 20 year old that I wouldn't be able to move to New York, to then at 24 being told I couldn't start my own business and then as a 40 year old being told that I couldn't get abs for 40 - all my life it's has been easy to find people who haven't believed in me. That's what you need to believe in yourself and back what you do. As we have learnt with COVID, you could have the best five year or ten year plan draw up, but life often doesn't go to plan, so what can you do today to start having the life you have always wanted.

Tell me your involvement with the forum?

I am always a believer in giving back and right now business owners and entrepreneurs may be in challenging times if they don't adapt quickly. With the rise of AI being adopted rapidly, it's time for company owners to implement AI into their business in order to remain competitive. What better way to start educating people than supporting your own local community that offers such a rich and diverse range of businesses that make Bondi and the Waverley area what it is today. I'll be sharing on a speaker panel, my insights, on The Revolution of Marketing & Advertising in this new AI era and offering practical advice on what you can do today to have a better business tomorrow.
